We live in a fast-paced, changing world that is often hard to keep up with. How do we ‘be our best self’ in this modern-day whirlwind?

Being our best self is liking who we are whilst being willing to grow and learn, it is being kind to ourselves as well as to each other. To be our best self, we must take time to explore and recognise what we are good at and how we can use that in our lives through our work, in our community and with our family and friends to help ourselves and others.

When we find our passion, we find our purpose.

We are all unique. But, it’s our flaws and quirks that make us beautifully unique and embracing who we really are in the starting point to keep on keeping on. Life is a journey, and, on our way, we hit potholes, roadblocks, dead end and unexpected circumstances. None of these situations defines us but how we respond does, by getting up, brushing ourselves down and navigating in a new direction is what really counts.

Life is a gift to be celebrated daily.

Reflect over your lifetime and write down all the things you love doing and are good at. Compare your life today to that life; is there anything missing now that you once did, that you want to pick back up? Thinking this through may help you where you are at right now. Nothing is wasted, it is only forgotten. Dig deep, reflect and dedicate yourself to some new goals. Decide to apply your passion, conscientiousness and persistence and you will get there! Remember to celebrate when you get to where you want to go, and you may enjoy sharing your goals with a friend to help you stay accountable.

Reflection is a great tool; many people enjoy reading back over their journals, looking at old photographs and mementoes. Talk about your progress as this brings a fresh perspective that is often forgotten when circumstances around us are changing or tumbling.

If you need help being your best self I would be delighted to help through a coaching session or a coaching conversation over a cup of coffee to help you on your way with the next steps on your journey. You can contact me through my website if this is something you’re interested in.
